The “Improve Our Village”  Non-Governmental Organization is implementing the “Smart Budget” project within the framework of a sub-grant provided by the “Budgets for Citizens” programme implemented with the financial support of the European Union by the Armenian Lawyers’ Association, in cooperation with partners “Economic Development and Research Center” (EDRC) NGO and “Agora Central Europe” NGO (Czech Republic).

The target sector of the project is agriculture (animal husbandry).

The main objective of the project is to improve the transparency and accountability of the state budget in the livestock sector through monitoring and analysis of budget programs.

Over the past 2.5 months, a preliminary analysis of programs and financial allocations from the state budget of the RA to the livestock sector has been carried out. The study was aimed at identifying the directions and the tools with which the state supports the development of the sector, as well as to present preliminary data on allocations from the state budget for 2024–2025.

Currently, the following have been studied:

  • Program allocations of the RA state budget (agriculture section),
  • Public reports of the Ministry of Economy of the RA, the Ministry of Finance of the RA and the State Agricultural Inspectorate of the Republic of Armenia,
  • Open data on state agricultural development programs.

The analysis also highlighted the budget allocations for 2024 and 2025, which relate to the main programs of the sector.

*The presented figures are preliminary and are based on government program data collected during the study.
