This “Budget Knowledge-Sharing” platform was created within the framework of the Budgets 4 Citizens (B4C) program with the aim of providing publicly accessible budgetary information.

The problems of the platform are:

• Present budgetary information, including simplified analyses, publicly available guidelines and successful experience of the budgetary sector of the European Union countries, in particular the Czech Republic:
• Encourage and increase the level of participatory budgeting in Armenia:
• Provide an opportunity for CSOs and young specialists to acquire budgetary knowledge.

The “Budgets 4 Citizens” (B4C) project is being implemented with the financial support of the European Union by the Armenian Lawyers’ Association, cooperation with partners “Economic Development and Research Center” (EDRC) NGO and “Agora Central Europe” NGO (Czech Republic).

The goal of the project is to build the capacity of CSOs: giving them the information, skills, human and technical resources as well as the routes to engage and influence in policy debates. Within the framework of the project, CSOs will receive both capacity building and mentoring support, developing capacity to analyze budget proposals and public expenditures. In addition, they will have the capacity to advocate on behalf of their members and stakeholders, focusing on target areas and overseeing budget performance. As a result, public accountability will increase, the transparency of the budget process will improve, and citizens’ awareness and participation in budgetary processes will be ensured.

The target sectors of the project are: Justice, Education, Social Sector and Agriculture.

The budget of the project is € 777,778, of which € 700,000 is provided by the EU
