Budget of the 2025 “General Education” Programme

AMD 132.7 bln will be allocated to the “General Education” Programme in 2025, which has increased by 9.4%, or AMD 11.5 bln, compared to the previous year.

27 measures will be implemented using the budget funding.

The major share of funds AMD 118.9 bln, will be allocated for the implementation of measures in primary, secondary and basic schools of the general education. The minimum funding for the measures AMD 5.2 mln, will be allocated to fund the experts involved in the work of the Republican Classification Commission.

According to the “2025 Budget-Explanatory Message of the Government of the Republic of Armenia”, reforms in the “General Education” Sector will be continued in the main directions aimed at improving the quality of compulsory education for the learners, with the following objectives:

  • implementation of tools for certification, promotion and professional development of teachers,
  • increasing the efficiency of management of general education institutions,
  • application of effective learner-centered mechanisms in the inclusive education process,
  • improving the quality of the educational content base, including subject programs and textbooks,
  • modernization of the educational and material base of the general education infrastructure with giving priority to the construction of earthquake-resistant school construction, equipping them with modern equipment, and the use of information technologies.
