As part of the continuous improvement of the education system and its compliance with international standards, Armenia, since 2023, joined the largest international student assessment programme – the PISA (Programme for International Student Assessment) which is a measure of the General Education Programme. The measure aims to assess the performance in reading, science, and mathematics skills of 15-year-old students, providing comparable and reliable data on the effectiveness of educational reforms.

PISA is conducted every three years, allowing countries to compare the results of their education system at the international level. AMD 116.7 mln was allocated from the Armenian state budget for this measure in 2024, which demonstrates the commitment of the country to improving the quality of education and increasing the competitiveness of students.
