Providing the pupils of General Education schools with textbooks and educational materials is an important component of the educational process. This initiative promotes the creation of equal learning conditions, which is one of the main factors in improving the quality of education.

Providing the students of educational institutions with textbooks and educational materials is one of the measures of the “General Education” Programme. The Programme is aimed at providing textbooks and other supplies in order to ensure and improve the efficiency of the educational process in general education schools. AMD 2.3 bln billion have been allocated for this programme in 2024. Textbooks and other supplies are provided to the pupils of elementary grades of general education schools, the learners of the 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 10th grades, the national minorities.  Braille textbooks are provided as well. In 2024, learners of the educational institutions were provided with 2,529,743 textbooks, and pupils of elementary grades were provided with 970,288 textbooks and notebooks. The “ABC”, “Native Language”, “Mathematics”, “Fine Arts”, “Technology”, “Russian Language”, “English Language”, foreign languages, natural sciences, as well as other textbooks are provided.

Funds allocated to the programme have increased significantly in the period of 2021–2024. Expenditures for 2021 amounted to AMD 912,6 mln, for 2022 – 891,9 mln, and in 2023 – 1,1 bln. AMD 1.5 bln is planned for 2025, which is a decrease of 32.2% compared to the previous year.
