2024 Budget for Justice Sector: From Draft to Reality

2025-07-04 11:39

The Justice Sector received slightly less funding than planned in 2024. While the draft envisaged about AMD 75 bln, however about AMD 74.8 bln were actually allocated.

8 departments implemented 17 budget programmes, some of which received an increased funding, while others reduced funding.

The Ministry of Justice and the Prosecutor’s Office received approximately 4 and 3 percent more funding than planned, respectively. The Corruption Prevention Commission received a slightly increased budget as well.

However, a number of important institutions have been subject to reduction of funding. The Supreme Judicial Council, the Constitutional Court, the Investigative Committee, and the Staff of Human Rights Defender received less funding than planned. The Anti-Corruption Committee received 15 percent less funding overall.

These data indicate that there is a discrepancy between priorities and actual funding in the allocation of resources in the justice sector, which may affect ensuring the rule of law and the effectiveness of the judicial system.
