“Women without Targeting”
“Success Lady” Youth Non-Governmental Organization
On 16, September as part of the “Women without Targeting” sub-grant project implemented in the framework of the “Budget for Citizens” program, the “Success Lady” NGO held a discussion focused on the accessibility of social support programs, existing challenges, and potential solutions.
Ms Syuzanna Soghomonyan, a representing the “Armenian Lawyers’ Association” NGO and the “Budgets for Citizens” program, delivered opening remarks. She outlined the main objectives of the program and the activities implemented within its framework, highlighted the importance of research and advocacy initiatives undertaken by civil society organizations in the social sphere.
During the meeting, Ms Hripsime Kocharyan, Manger of the “Women without Targeting” sub-grant project, presented the main objectives and findings of the study. According to the data obtained, women face a number of obstacles in accessing social support programs, ranging from a lack of awareness about the programs to difficulties associated with application procedures and obtaining the required documentation.
The project expert Ms Astghik Matinyan, also addressed the challenges that women face in the labor market, highlighting in particular the difficulties encountered by women aged 35-45 when reintegrating into the workforce. She also emphasized the importance of raising awareness about social assistance programs in the regions and ensuring that professionals working directly with the public – such as: social workers, doctors, psychologists, and representatives of the education sector are provided with relevant information.
The discussion highlighted the importance of research, analysis and recommendations prepared by the civil society organizations to identify existing problems in the social support system and develop possible solutions to them.
Meeting participants presented their observations and proposals aimed at enhancing the accessibility and effectiveness of social support programs.
