On 11 September, the concluding meeting of the “Reforms in the Food Safety System and Promotion of Safe Poultry Consumption in Armenia” sub-grant project took place.

Representatives of the RA Ministry of Economy, non-governmental organizations working in the field of consumer protection, the business community, Yerevan State University, and the media attended the meeting.

Ms Lianna Asoyan, President and project manager of the “BLEJAN” NGO, and Ms Anahit Mardoyan, a representative of the “Budgets for Citizens” program delivered opening remarks. The latter addressed the main objectives of the “Budgets for Citizens” program, and the results achieved within its framework.

The work carried out, the issues identified, and the project results were presented during the meeting. The advocacy expert of the project presented the strategy for the safe consumption of poultry meat as well.

The event concluded with a lively Q&A session and an open discussion, during which participants presented their observations and proposals aimed at the continuous development and improvement of the sector.

The meeting provided an opportunity to review the accomplished work and the results achieved under the program, and also to discuss potential steps aimed at further improving the food safety sector.
