On 20 May, 2025, an online awareness session was held between the “Budgets for Citizens” program team and CSOs/Media Organizations of the second stream of the budget training programme. The 2nd round of sub-grant programmes for CSO/Media organizations was the topic of the discussion.
The main objective of the session was to present more detailed information about the two upcoming sub-grant competitions to the participants:

At the beginning of the information session, representatives of the Armenian Lawyers’ Association first spoke about the main objectives of the sub-grant programmes, target sectors and their activities areas. Further, the application submission procedure, deadlines and the rules for the selection of programmes were presented in detail. The representatives shared with the participants the results of the sub-grant programmes implemented within the framework of the first round as well.
In addition to the partners’ presentations, Suzanna Solomonyan also provided a detailed and systematic overview of the process of identifying and systematically defining the strategic directions and most important priorities for the further implementation of advocacy and mass awareness activities, based on the problems and multifaceted challenges that would be revealed during comprehensive budget monitoring and analysis. She also provided thorough and practical answers to participants’ questions, presented relevant and useful examples, demonstrating how this knowledge could become effective and targeted tools in their future professional activities and program initiatives.
Ms Lilit Hakobyan, an expert of the Economic Development and Research Center, highlighted the target sectors, directions, and key priorities of the programmes. She clarified the process of creating sectoral simplified budgets, and the main methods of budget monitoring and analysis as well.
Participants were interested in the criteria of the selection sub-grant, the deadlines, program duration, and involvement of young specialists. In the concluding part of the session, the program team wished the participants success in preparing sub-grant applications and successful progress in further joint work.
