Discussion on Needs Based Capacity Building with CSO/Media Representatives

An online discussion within the framework of the “Budgets for Citizens” project was organized for the CSO/Media representatives during which the participants addressed the main issues and problems of sustainable development of the civil society organizations and mass media and the introduction of effective mechanisms to overcome them. During the meeting, issues related to the online budgeting capacity development course organized for the representatives of CSOs and Mass Media, in particular, the needs-based and related capacity development module, were discussed as well.

Representatives of about 20 CSOs and Media organizations who had successfully completed the online phase of the training program aimed at developing the budgetary capacities of CSOs/Mass Media, attended the meeting,

Ms Syuzanna Soghomonyan, the representative of the Armenian Lawyers’ Association facilitated the meeting. During the meeting, the participants discussed in detail key areas of sustainable development of organizations, including mechanisms for ensuring financial stability, effective human resource management and staff development, opportunities for establishing strategic cooperation, developing a strategic plan and organizing self-assessment, as well as promoting gender equality in organizations.

Participants highly appreciated the accessibility and interactive nature of the developed training materials. During the discussion, practical examples and applied solutions that would help the organizations improve the efficiency of their activities, were proposed.

It is noteworthy that the CSO/Media the representatives in addition to receiving answers to the questions of their concern, shared their own experiences and proposed innovative approaches for the development of the sector as well.

The “Budgets 4 Citizens” (B4C) action (8 December, 2022 – 7 December, 2026) is being implemented with the financial support of the European Union by the Armenian Lawyers’ Association, in cooperation with partners “Economic Development and Research Center” (EDRC) NGO and “Agora Central Europe” NGO (Czech Republic).
