Advocacy Mechanisms in the Budgetary Process at the Focus of Discussion with CSO/Media Representatives

An online discussion of the participants of the training program aimed at developing the budgetary capabilities of CSOs/Mass Media and Ms Syuzanna Soghomonyan, the representative of the Armenian Lawyers’ Association, was held on 12 February, in the framework of online phase of “Budgets for Citizens” Program.

The meeting was aimed at summarizing the results of the online training for representatives of CSOs/Media on advocacy in budgetary processes and to clarify the issues that arose.

At the beginning of the meeting, Syuzanna Soghomonyan welcomed the participants, highly appreciating the successful start and progress of the educational program. The participants have already studied the main tools for implementation of advocacy in budgetary processes, methods of public budget monitoring, mechanisms of cooperation with the state bodies, and the peculiarities of developing public policies through the budgets.am electronic platform for transferring budgetary knowledge, which is operating within the framework of the program.

The discussion resulted in an effective dialogue, during which comprehensive answers to questions related to the topic of budgetary processes and issues of their concern were provided to the participants.

At the end of the meeting, CSO/Media representatives expressed their gratitude for the development of accessible and interactive educational materials and noted that they would definitely continue the educational program.

The “Budgets 4 Citizens” (B4C) action (8 December, 2022 – 7 December, 2026) is being implemented with the financial support of the European Union by the Armenian Lawyers’ Association, in cooperation with partners “Economic Development and Research Center” (EDRC) NGO and “Agora Central Europe” NGO (Czech Republic).
