On June 24, a training session on participatory budgeting and its legal foundations was held. The training was conducted within the framework of the “Budgets for Citizens” program. The lecture was delivered by program expert Syuzanna Soghomonyan, representative of the Armenian Lawyers Association.
The training began with participants completing an initial knowledge assessment test developed by the ALA representative. Subsequently, the ALA representative held comprehensive discussions with both young professionals and CSO/Media representatives about the objectives and principles of participatory processes, as well as their legal foundations at state and local levels.
The lecture and discussion were followed by group and practical work by participants, aimed at reinforcing the knowledge gained during the training and applying it to real-world problems. In conclusion, participants completed a final knowledge assessment test to evaluate the training’s effectiveness and knowledge growth.
The training sessions are conducted in a hybrid format – both in-person and remote – facilitating participation from young professionals and CSO/Media representatives from distant regions.
We remind you that the “Budgets for Citizens” program (December 08, 2022 – December 07, 2026) is implemented with funding from the European Union, in partnership with “Armenian Lawyers Association” NGO, “Economic Development and Research Center” NGO, and “Agora Central Europe” NGO (Czech Republic).
